I have been using the Rab Latok jacket for the last year and it is my go-to jacket for torrential downpours. I absolutely love the jacket and what it can offer!

Overall verdict
As I said above this is my go-to jacket for all conditions outside of the stunning sunshine. The jacket is phenomenal at keeping me dry through full days on the hill without having to double waterproof all of the time. The waterproofness of the jacket is impressive but is also super durable and comfortable.
However, nothing is perfect, despite the waterproofing being great the front pockets are definitely not waterproof. The pockets keep most of it out but it does not take much for them to start getting damp inside, I learnt this when my phone got a little wet one day. The only other downside is the price tag - £500 but whoever wants to fork out this much! Compared to its other competitors however, it is on par so I can't be to harsh about the price tag.
Waterproof
As I have already stated its waterproofing is fantastic in my opinion and has never faulted yet. In my previous experience, my jackets have tended to falter, but the Rab Latok has not, I have always been dry despite the weather.
Durability/Comfort

I believe these two kind of go hand-in-hand and hopefully, you'll agree with me. The jacket being so waterproof does mean it feels thick at points, particularly under the arms I find. In terms of durability, this is great! I have had this in all conditions on rock, mud, bogs, all sorts and it hasn't let me down. The zips likewise are great, I really love the main front zip as it just feels bomber. In terms of durability, I don't see where this might falter.
However, this brings me to comfort, as a jacket, I love the fit and the way it feels. As I've already said it feels bomber, but for some that means it may not be as malleable as one may like, this does not mean it holds you back! If you are a fell runner always in your super thin pertex outers then it will feel stiff, but do you want to get wet? However, for those of us in the mountains for hours at a time it is super comfy! The only downside to it is the underarm zips, I do find these can be a pain to unzip and rezip throughout the day. You get this with every jacket to an extent but I have found this jacket can accentuate this problem sometimes.
Despite these opinions of mine, this is still my favourite jacket to date, I am warm, comfy, and dry all day in the mountains.

Versatility
Finally, versatility - to put it simply it is a do-it-all all jacket in my opinion. It keeps you dry all day, it isn't cumbersome, it is comfortable and it does what it's meant to. What more do you want? It's great in snow and ice to keeping torrential rain off you, so what more is there to want from a jacket? Whenever I am going out, whatever it is, this is always the first thing in my bag ready to go, its trustworthy and bomber!
This has been a short and sweet review of the Rab Latok but hopefully it gives a greater insight into the jacket. You won't be disappointed with it.
