MTA RCI Assessment Prep
Your RCI Assessment is a tough couple of days taking in all things rock climbing. Your personal skill but also your group skill should be top-notch to pass this intense 2-day assessment.
Our clinics take on a relaxed approach to encourage the best of everyone with max ratios of 1:4 to allow engaged instructor contribution. Within these clinics we will talk much more broadly regarding the assessment process to give you the most confidence possible.

Our courses run throughout Mid-Wales, Eryri (Snowdonia), Lake District and the Peak District.

All courses have instructor : participant ratios, at HK Adventuring if you have a larger group then we will provide additional qualified staff.

Anchor building for groups
On this course we will set up multiple anchor bottom-rope set-ups that you would use for groups. Whilst setting these up we will do some climbing and scenarios you may face on your assessment.
​
The day will focus very much on confidence in group scenarios. Expect to make lots of anchors, and get your thinking caps on to help people who may have got themselves into sticky situations.

Group abseiling
All things abseiling is the course of the day. We will look at building efficient but simple anchors for group abseiling. During this we will do some abseils and problem solving scenarios, all things you may face on your assessment and in real life.

We will take a steady approach to anchor building before integrating scenarios, and finally ways to make abseilling more enjoyable for your group.
​

Refresher day
This refresher day is for those who just need that little extra confidence. We will focus on what you need. The day will be fast paced looking at lots of different scenarios and group activities.

We will mainly revise over the main sections within your assessment rather than focus on one, so come prepared for a revision session rather than workshop on one aspect of the RCI assessment.
​
We will focus on abseils, group climbing, tie off belay plates, getting out of the harness etc.
​
